Makeup is a great way for people to express their individuality and their artistic inclinations but sometimes it can be quite expensive! I believe that makeup should not only be great quality but also be affordable for everyone. I have rounded up some dupes for some wonderful high-end makeup products. I tried to pull together a full face of makeup and while not all of them are exact dupes, they are pretty close. This month we will focus on the base products.
Primer is an important step of any makeup routine so you want to make sure that you are prepping your skin with a primer that will keep you moisturized and help your makeup stay on all day long.
One great high-end product is Makeup Forever’s Step 1 Primer that helps to smooth your skin’s texture and help your makeup last. The NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer is a dupe for this primer for a wonderfully luminous look.
Foundation is a hard product to dupe, to be honest. There are so many different formulas out there and with constant differences in shade ranges and the way that they work with different types of skin. The only way to truly compare foundations are ones that claim to do the same things.
A nice high-end foundation is the Estee Lauder Double-Wear. This foundation is supposed to provide you with a matte finish and natural, long wear. The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte also is a mattifying foundation that has 24-hour wear. Both boast a similar color range but the L’Oreal comes in at less than half the price.
This is another product that can be hard to compare unless you are comparing apples to apples, and trying to match the formulas pretty exactly. Concealer is a crucial part of a makeup routine so you want to make sure that you are using one that is blendable, the correct shade, and conceals what you want it to.
One great high-end concealer would be the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. NARS claims that this concealer provides medium to full coverage that will hydrate your undereye. A pretty close dupe for this concealer is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – an all-around great product! While not having as much of a shade range as NARS, the formula provides you with a flawless finish for a fraction of the price.
